"Tales of Black Shadow" was a comic book produced by Vigilante Comics in 1992 that was not part of the Sprinkles continuity. It featured a hero named Black Shadow, which was a comic book character Mike Longo had created years before (March 1988) and had drawn several comics for.

Issues[]

Issue #1 (June 1992)[]

In Chicago, something from the shadows grabs and snacks upon an alley cat. In a different alley, three guys are about to rape a girl. Black Shadow appears, shoots one of the criminals. One of the remaining guys threatens to shoot the girl, and shoots Black Shadow instead. His kevlar vest saves him. Then, BS attacks the two guys, saving the girl. Meanwhile a man walking home is asked for the time by the monster in the shadows, and then is stabbed in the head.

Issue #2 (June 1992)[]

Michael Manner is reading the paper, of the 7 murders committed yesterday in the city, when he hears a scream. Jumping out to the alley as Black Shadow, he finds the victim - dead. The murderous monster, Massacre, attacks BS, who shoots him repeatedly. However, Massacre is not dead, and continues the attack.

Issue #3 (September 1992)[]

The battle with Massacre continues, and BS uses most of the weapons in his arsenal. Finally what does Massacre in are the miniature explosives BS throws onto his chest.

Issue #4 (September 1992)[]

Michael Manner gets a check from the government, secretly, for killing criminals. He's deciding what to do with the money when he hears on the news that Computron, one of his classic enemies, is on a rampage. Black Shadow tracks him down and they begin to fight.

Issue #6 (October 1992)[]

The fight continues, with BS punching out Computron's computer screen face, which makes him angry.

Issue #7 (October 1992)[]

BS uses his miniature explosives to blow Computron apart. Inside, he's still (partially) human. BS asks him his motives, and says that Brainwave has been contracting supervillains to rob banks for him. BS ponders contacting Cosmic to help him battle Brainwave, as Computron tries to shoot him. BS realizes it and shoots Computron dead.

Issue #8 (November 1992)[]

BS meets a helicoptor pilot called Edge. Cosmic flies in. The three fly in a helicopter towards Brainwave's base. They are spotted and shot at. Edge takes out the guns with his own and drops off Cosmic and BS, who run towards the entrance.

Issue #9 (November 1992)[]

The duo break into the base, where BS shoots a bunch of guards. Cosmic takes offense because killing is wrong. Then they encounter Slice and Dice.
